Speculative Cover

Just this morning I received a Google Alert that "Within the Flame" is up for a vote on www.LDSPublisher.blogspot.com for one of the best speculative covers on that site. So far, it has gotten the most votes. Exciting! So, if you want to go on and vote, just click on the title of this post "Speculative Cover" and you will be linked to the website to cast your vote. More International

Just a quick note to say thank you to all the positive comments I've received about "Within the Flame". It is just so neat to see that readers in New Zealand, Australia, India, and other countries enjoy this story. It's really fun to introduce a bit of Native American folklore to other countries. I hope my next project is as well received. An update on my next project: I'm 1/4th of the way through the first book in a trilogy, loosely titled "The Beckoning". I hope I can get it all done before the end of the year, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I was surprised today while checking my email to find that I had received several Google Alerts with my book being sold in several different countries. It is still written in English, but that fact hasn't stopped some readers whose first language is French or Spanish. It's pretty cool to see a positive comment written in French! (thank goodness I took it in college or else I would've had no idea what they said) So, thank you for taking the time to read my story everyone! I really appreciate all the positive feedback I've gotten the past few weeks from friends, family, and now readers outside my own country!

Article in Current Argus

An article about "Within the Flame" was printed on the front page of my home town news paper this past Sunday. Though I come from a small town, it was fun seeing my picture in the paper. The only problem is they kept referring to me as "Jones", because it was my friend Ashley who had called the paper to write the article about me. It's funny, because Jones is her maiden name...so, I don't know where they got that from. Anyway, click on "Article in Current Argus" to read it! Thanks for your support, Carlsbad!

Ok, so this has nothing to do with "Within the Flame", but it's still fun. I was recently used as a reference in an article about surviving a new baby. It talks about body image issues and a few other things you may not know about what happens after you have a baby. Click on the title of this post to check it out!

Tid Bits

Just posting a little update. First, I want to thank my friends and family for spreading the word about this book, it has really paid off and it is working! Secondly, there seems to be a debate about how the main character's name is pronounced. So, let me clear that up. It is "Anna-lee" (as in my name reversed).
I also want to note that several book clubs are reading "Within the Flame" right now and I want to invite you to post your opinions about the story or characters on this blog (good or bad). I hope you enjoy the story! Thanks.

Well, my first book signing went off with a few hitches. The books got held up and didn't ship in time to actually be there, however, there were many copies pre-ordered. So, it all worked out. I also got to meet some great authors who gave me good advice and we had a lot of fun. Thanks for coming out and supporting me!
